BosaikNet turns 10 in just under two weeks! We've come a long way starting from humble beginnings: GameServer-1 was brought online by Bosaik on 1 February 2015 at 12:22 PM PST, hosting only Minecraft and Unreal Tournament 2004. Around those we grew a tight-knit community of locals and netizens alike. We've moved hardware a few times as we learned how to best run a server, with the lean and mean GameServer-2 on 25 June 2015, the 8-core Ryzen-based GameServer-3 on 6 May 2015, the excessively parallel GameServer-4 on 15 July 2019, and the highly power-efficient GameServer-5 on 25 March 2024. And with new hardware, we hosted new software: Team Fortress 2, Garry's Mod, Satisfactory, and Valheim, to name a few. Communication also evolved in those years, going from Skype in 2015, to IRC in 2016, and with Discord bridged to IRC as a backup in 2017. Through it all, our mission has remained the same.
We will be doing on-server events on 1 February 2025 to celebrate, and GameServer-1 will be hosting its original services following significant investments in the hardware to keep it alive. We hope to see you online with us then!
